jacob80
Hey guys, I just have a quick question regarding my oil feed and return on my HY35. If you read my most recent entry on my blog I started a couple days ago, it'll explain my problem. Basically, I need to know if the angle of my feed and drain are ok. I'm afraid my drain could potentially be problematic. Link: http://jacob80a.wordpress.com Thanks guys!
BLOZ UP
It will still drain, it will just pool up a bit.
jacob80
It will still drain, it will just pool up a bit. I agree. I'm not 100% certain, but I don't think it is enough to cause issues, but I could be wrong here.
djz
With the motor sitting in the bay and on the correct angle it should be alright. Why don't you shorten the steel pipe a little bit?
jacob80
I was thinking how the angle of the motor would probably end up making it just about parallel to the ground. I could cut and re-weld the tube, but I'm using a MIG welder and it gets ugly. If it came down to it, I could make it happen.
rossman
It will drain...like a sink trap drains.

Pyro
should drain. But the fix is to clock the center section relative to the turbine. Turn the center section so the oil and drain feed is vertical. loosen the clamp, heat the turbine/center secgtion interface with an oxy acetylene touch for a few minutes and rotate the center section.
