Dadaluma
I have an opportunity to buy an E31 head, I have heard that these are rare . What would be a good price to buy/sell one for? Thanks
cockerstar
It's value depends entirely on it's condition and what work has been done to it before.
Perfect240z
+1 I've seen a few and they ranged from 100% redone to needs a lot of work. 100 being low prob 400 on the high end? I saw one for 650 but I wouldn't pay that much for that head and I'm in search of one for my e31 block.
SleeperZ
I just sold one without the cam, tower or rockers in good used original condition for $60. They come up sometimes complete in same condition for $100 or a bit more.
SHADY280
I have one thats a virgin with 30,000 miles on it, been wondering the same question, I dont need it. One thing stopping me is shipping it as i live in canada. have the cam and spraybar, everything. Someone decided to try and put the motor in an mg or something years ago and never ran it, a friend got it, knew i like datsun and gave me the L24. Even came with round top carbs that were complete
Zguy91
Ive got a good working one with about 45k miles on it if anybody is interested. The E31 is a rare cylinder head because it was only produced for 2 years and alot of them were bought up and used for racing back in the day because of the smaller combustion chambers. Nowadays you can just use an N42 or MN47 or something and get high compression.
Perfect240z
I was looking for one because I would like to put my Z back to stock at some point. And since the P/O i think chucked it from a bent valve(I see a dent on the top of the piston so Im assuming that happend) I want the E31 to go with my E31 block.
