Haehl
I'm swapping out my dash soon and thought about upgrading my wiring. Specifically I found these products: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/12-4651 http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/12-4652 I will hopefully sooner or later be doing some sort of motor swap but not sure which route yet. I don't know much about wiring but will these still be compatible with the new motors wiring harness? Are there any pros/cons I should know other than the ones listed? Also, any advice on someone with little experience trying to install these during a dash swap? Thanks guys!
spitsnaugle
The guy who makes them for MSA is a member on here, named Dave, his username is: HLS30-08077 Hit him up.
VKLR
You might want to add this to your list also.... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRF-30202/ I did an engine swap and now i'm re-wiring the whole car. I wasn't planning on a complete re-wire but what pushed me to do it was the gauges. I could have adapted the 30 plus year old instruments to somewhat work but would not compare to the newer technology. Now i'm getting rid of a bunch of un-needed relays and wiring to save a little weight (280z). Edited March 10, 2012 by VKLR
Six_Shooter
Those harnesses from MSA will not affect a future engine swap.
GreenState
$147 for a headlight wiring harness??!?! Are you f'n kiddin' me?! MSA does nothing but buy other peoples products and mark the retail price up 500+%. Here's the same if not better harness for $30: Black Dragon Auto - HD Headlight Harness
NewZed
They're not the same harness. Do a little Googling and searching and read the comparisons between the two and you'll find that the MSA/Dave harness is essentially plug-in and go, while the BD harness is apparently somewhat difficult to get installed. Always a good idea to do some research before making a WAG and criticizing just because something appears to be expensive.
