luseboy
Yes, you need them. I reccomend the energy suspension polyurethane ones. Edited March 12, 2012 by luseboy
johnc
They are not required. You're better off relocating the inner LCA mount in the crossmember if you want to reduce steering kickback.

He said bumpstops, as in when the suspension bottoms out. Are you sure you're not thinking of bump"steer"? Nigel
JMortensen
There are some pretty good arguments to be made for longer, squishier bumpstops, but if your suspension is sprung stiffly enough that you don't hit them often, then it probably doesn't make too much difference. Here's an example of a "really nice" bumpstop: http://fatcatmotorsports.com/FCMstops_comp.htm
johnc
I'm an idiot today. Please ignore me until tomorrow. FYI... bumpstops = good!
nazgule6
I see thanks guys.....I got a v8 swap using 250lbs front and rear .. I'm hopping the car would be stiff enough so that It won't hit, because taking everything back apart is going to be a pain in the ***
JMortensen
You should have bumpstops.

RebekahsZ
If in doubt, put it together and go test drive it. The thing I love about my coilovers is that it is pretty easy to work on them. You can always go back and put bump stops on if you need them. Depending on your springs, and how much you sectioned your struts, you may coil bind before you bottom between the gland nut and the top insulator/spring seat. The next question to torture yourself with is "how large of a bumpstop should I use?" I had a set of tokicos that came with bumpstops that slid tightly over the strut rod. I cut them in half and run 1/2 on the front and 1/2 on the back because they were so tall.
