GTS-4-RB20 into a 1970 240

Hello,

 

I been wanting to updated my 1970 240z. I like the idea of putting in an RB20. I found a donor car that would be perfect. its a R32-GTS-4. RB20. I know its four wheel drive. How hard is it to convert the 240 into 4 wheel drive? Can i keep it two wheel drive? is that possible, I just seal up the front drive shafts?

 

Any advise would be greatly appereaited.

Do some searching, as that's been covered many times here. In short, you will use an RB25 RWD trans instead of the AWD trans. You might also consider using an RB25 instead of an RB20. I think it'd be a much better swap, but that's personal preference.

Thanks for the advice. I seached but nothing come up. I can get a complete Rb20 ready to go. For cheap. Complete car. RB 20 are a little harder to find. But I can get a trann for pretty cheap that would do the trick.

Regarding keeping AWD, I'd highly advise against it. It's just not economical and doesn't really translate to better performance in the S30 chassis.
