280z rear strut removal

Recommended Posts

I'm swapping out the carts and springs on the rear of the 280 i just bought. Will i be able to disco the brake lines, (drum) disco the half shaft from the stub, then disco the top of the strut and lower it enough to get the springs compressed and removed? or am i'm going to have to go thru the dreaded pin removal process? I did search but all i found was coilover discussion.

When I changed my springs last summer, I had to lower the whole assembly out of the car.

I didn't touch the spindle pins, I removed them by disconnecting the front diff crossmember and the rear retainer on the uprights.

OK i'm done,

Discod the brake lines, emerg brake cable, half shafts, and sway bar then used a little down force to get them low enough to clear the tunnel. Took me about 2 hours on the first side then 30 minutes on the second side. Car sits allot better now and rides a whole hell of allot better!!!

BTW there is no way around not discoing the half shafts. ;>
