madkaw
I'm running 17X 8.5 +4 Rota's RBR's. I'm planning on installing ZG flares and will want to fill them-especially the rear. Problem is that 245 is probably as big as I want to go opn a 8.5" wheel-unless some of you disagree. From what I can tell by pics, my 8.5" RBR's look different in design then the 9.5" RBR's. The curvature of the spokes is more pronounced on my wheels, where as the 9.5" spokes lay flatter. I thought when I originally got the wheels I got the RB's and not the RBR's, but the boxes said RBR. I wonder if anyone went for the stagger look with smaller front wheels and ran into this??. Do you regret not being able to rotate tires? My other option is to run spacers, which would be the cheapest way out, but maybe not prefered. The whole reason for this post is my rears rub with my 245's. It's not much at all, I bet 6mm would cure it, but not too many options to fix. I'm slightly hesitant on cutting my quarters, they are very nice, but wouldn't mind having 275's on the rear eventually. My fronts clear with 245's.Love to be able to change the offset on my wheel by machining, but worried about integrity of the wheel
brianZortiz
I have ran that combo, just sold 8.5 / 9.5 RBr today. Check out icehound 240z. I liked mine. It was sun convex and sun concave as how I viewed mine.

Midnight-280Z
I ran a true staggered set up for a while, 16s in front and 17s in back... 16x7 Rota RB 205/45/16 (I think tire wise) 17x8.5 Rota RB-R 245/40/17 (Rubs) I am lowered on Tokico Spring and HP shocks. I thought I had the same problem you did regarding the looks of the RB and RB-R...The curvature actually varies in the size of the wheels. You can have 2 different looking RB and RB-R depending on your size. Steering got really heavy with this set up and I'm glad I moved away from it. As for tires, I could of cared less that I couldn't rotate. I'm still running a staggered set up but this new set up feels a lot better to me personally than my old one even though it's not a "true" stagger set up. 17x8/8.5 Fronts (I can't recall exactly) 17x9 Rears 225/40/17 All around I would stay with the same diameter wheels and just stagger the width of the wheels. Will be doing ZG flares in the future so most likely I'll be moving away from my current set up again and end up with 17x9.5 all around. disepyon
Can anyone help me guess what tire size this guy has on his RB R? and what color wheels are they? the Hyper black? or Silver? I want my wheels to have lots of meat on them like this guy has, i dont want that stretch look. Edited July 8, 2012 by disepyon
brianZortiz
Mostly all RBr 9.0 and 9.5 run 255 40 and 275 40 rear. That's going to fill fenders and have meat. I am sure that is what the blue car is running.
