78zstyle
I'm pretty close to buying my intercooler and piping, but I want to be 100% sure that I will have all the correct pieces. Can others share what pieces they bought so I don't waste money buying more piping than I need? Edit: Realized my title makes no sense. "What pieces exactly did everyone use for their intercooler?" fixed. Edited July 1, 2012 by 78zstyle
Tony D
Exactly the piping pieces I used were as follows: Piping Elbow of various configuration. Piping of straight length in determined dimensionally. More piping elbows suitably fashioned for perfect fitting and good looks. Even more piping elbows of considerable finesse and tact. Shorter straight length of piping most difficultly obtained and inserted firstly so as not to disturb subsequent pieces of assembly installed lastly. One elbow cut in half, somewhat obliquely for the final piece. Assembled were these pieces to complete the assembly quickly and professional appearance with good quality and first rate shine! What can I say, I work in China, your question was right up my alley!

BLOZ UP
I've got a lot of spare Al 2.25" and 2.5" bends. Some 3" as well. Need to clean out the garage.
78zstyle
Ok Nick, as soon as I figure out exactly what I need ill buy them off you. I found electric fans for 30 bucks each from silicone intakes that I think im going to use, seems a little risky but if yours works then ill assume these do. aarang
Design your own system....I drew a crude picture of my engine bay and figured which way I wanted to route the pipes first. Then I just drew in the pipes and figured which angles to use (45 or 90 deg, etc). Figure in the couplers, measure the straight lengths in the engine bay and your pretty much done. Not too hard with a plan. With the known angles you can buy one of the universal "kits" on fleabay with the correct amount of the lengths and angles you need. Dan_Austin
I just finished installing a 27x13x3 intercooler and 2.5" piping yesterday. As Aarang said take the measurments you can get it close. My install used- (1) 2" to 2.5" 90 degree coupler (1) 4" straight pipe (1) 6" straight pipe (2) uncut 90 degree (3) straight silicon couplers (2) 90 degree silicon couplers (1) 45 degree pipe with 4" cut off (1) 2.5" to 2.75" 45 degree coupler - 240SX TB, you might not need this The piping was typical eBay univeral, and I used less than 1/2 the piping in the kit, and by watching the sales on I got the piping for $100, and spent a third of that on the size changing couplers. Pyro
I bought steel mandrel bent j-bends from summit racing and pie cut and welded up my IC pipes. Put some welds on the pipe ends to act as hose barbs. Spray painted the outside and a light coat on the inside.

ryan95i4
2 90*'s, 1 45*, 1 straight section then everything cut/welded to fit. Hot side is two pieces and used a 90* plus some straight pieces on each piece and trimmed where needed. Considered making it one piece but figured having it two piece would make R&R quick and easy. Cold side is just the 45* trimmed to fit w/ the BOV flange welded on. For couplers, 2 90* couplers off the intercooler, 1 90* reducer off the turbo, 1 45* reducer off the throttle body, 1 straight coupler between the hot side pipes. 78zstyle
I found that buying an ebay kit of piping works if you have a saw to cut it.
