monk3y
So I am having an issue where when I start my '78 280z up it will crank for awhile and it takes like 4-5 tries before it will start and unless I give it gas it will die and it will sputter and back fire when I do this. I am kind of scratching my head on this one and not sure where to go on this on. Not sure if it is related but my oil reeked of fuel when i changed it, which makes me think it could be the piston rings going out.
monk3y
Actually I think I found the issue, injector 6 was leaking this morning so that explains that I think. I will just replace the seals and hoses, maybe the fuel rail too as I hate it. Edited March 14, 2013 by monk3y

monk3y
Well scratch that replacing the injector seals didn't resolve the issue. Any ideas?
NewZed
Does it run well when it warms up? Bad injector seals (the kind the parts stores sell) will just cause a vacuum leak.
monk3y
It runs fine when it is warm but when it is cold that is another story. Crap really. Well look I guess that is what I get for buying stuff from the parts store.
Domzs
Check your cold components : like air regulator , cold start inj. , and therm. switch .
