B. Whisky
Wanted to share this. A fellow gearhead at the shop is building it.
Nelsonian
Dear god, rocket ship in the making! What has been done to strengthen the car for the engine?
B. Whisky
Nothing atm, just a roll bar. He wants to get it operational first, hopefully I will have upgraded my welder by then.
ArchetypeDatsun
Not the first time I've seen an inline 6 in a roadster but first time one with a 2jz that's gonna be a beast.
Nelsonian
I sure how that does not twist it'self to pieces. I definately will be hoping to see some videos of this in full action when completed.
rayaapp2
Why does everyone think a roadster will twist or need more structure? Short wheel base full box frame and X member with incorporated front cross member ... There is some strengthening that can be done, but basically its as strong as it gets without replacing the whole frame with a tube frame under a glass shell. Personally for that setup I would only add a second anti-wrap bar on the drivers side of the rear axle and run! I think yall forget the roadster was not a uni-body Z. zero
I dunno... There's a guy in NY with a 400hp sr20 in his that twisted the car enough on the dyno to crack the body under the door. He said he watched it happen. Can't wait to see this thing finished though! Gonna be a monster! Also, that radiator looks silly with that engine, haha. B. Whisky
Second anti-wrap bar. Gonna pass that along. That rad is one sold for a Honda civic. The easiest one he could fit without cutting more than he did. Edited May 3, 2013 by B. Whisky
B. Whisky
There was also some 'weakening' that had to be done to the x-member to fit the trans. Edited May 3, 2013 by B. Whisky
