Anybody with 12.2" AZC Wilwood Kit - can I send you my wheels for test fit?

Recommended Posts

I'm making plans for a winter brake conversion to Arizona Z-Cars 12.2 4-piston Wilwood kit. From what I can gather, some 15" wheels will fit, and some won't. I'm looking for someone who would be willing to let me send my smallest wheels to them for a test fit over their installed AZC kit so that I can know whether I need to budget for new wheels and tires too. I would be sending one of my front and one of my rear 15" Weld Draglites and a handful of spacers. I need somebody with a 4-lug kit on an S30: 240z, 260z, 280z who would be willing to confirm clearances and discuss ways to overcome any conflicts. I would box and mail my wheels to you and include a check to you to cover return postage. I would also need to know what threads you have on your wheel studs so I can send a set of correct lug nuts (Weld lugnuts are kind of weird). If multiple folks are willing, I'd probably use whoever is closest to keep shipping down. Any volunteers?

If you don't get a closer offer, send them up here to northeast Ohio, near Akron. I'd be glad to see if those little 15's would work, I'm rootin' for ya!

Here's a pic of my front wheel, with long studs to accomodate spacers if needed.

Fhptom sent me a spec of 14.5" needed inside the rim at the hub. My 15x4 front runners are borderline but my 15x3.5s look good, perhaps even without a spacer. The rear 15x7 and 15x8s look problematic. Gonna do some research on Wilwood to see if a little smaller rotor is available for the rears since that caliper bracket looks pretty simple to duplicate.

I'm sad to say it, but these don't fit.  :icon51:   I was really hoping that they would.  The inside diameter is a fraction of an inch too small and rubs on the caliper.

Tried the 15x8's.  Really nice looking wheels, bummer I have to return them.

My wheel is at AZC. Dave test fit it and feels that my 15" Draglite will fit using a 5/8" spacer. If I go to a 5.5" back spaced wheel, I need a 5/8-3/4" spacer to center the tire in the wheel well between the lip and the spring perch. Holding off final order from Dave for a couple of days to see if the spine of my car can be repaired. Car is in shop for major sheet metal reinforcement.
