Mr.Twitty
I just put a transmission in my 82 280 turbo. It is the automatic tranny. I bolted it up torque converter and all. when I shift it into gear I get nothing at all. It has fluid it and connected all the lines back up. Can anyone give me any advice or have any experiance with this? This is my first time installing a tranny so all info will be greatly appreciated
NewZed
I would open up AT-40 and go through the troubleshooting chart. After making sure that the shift lever was attached to the transmission control rod. There's good stuff on page AT-10 also.
skirkland1980
If you rev the engine a little does it do anything? I'm not sure if the 3N71 has a vane pump (likely does) the vanes could be stuck from sitting a long time. Sometimes revving the engine a little can unstick the vanes. Mr.Twitty
The shift lever is connected. I revved it for several minutes with it in gear. I shifted it thru all of the gears while revving it and still nothing.
