bahelion89
Alright guys back again with yet another episode in the saga that is my 280z 1975 280z L28 with headers 5spd I've tested fuel once before and was fine, tested it last night and at idle I only have 28psi before the rail. The car will idle decent but touch the gas and it wants to die So is an 8psi difference enough to mess with how the car runs? What do you think are probable causes? P.s. Fuel filter is new, installed a second filter, injectors are clean
dexter72
What else have you checked and or tested??... Did you remove the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator while checking fuel pressure??.. What happens when you do that??.. Will the engine rev past that point when its feels like it may die??..
NewZed
1975 280z at idle I only have 28psi before the rail. This is normal.
Nigel
To expand on NewZed's reply, Base regulator pressure (no vacuum line attached) is ~36 psi Idle vacuum is likely around 16 in/mercury = -8 psi 36 - 8 = 28psi Nigel
Tony D
Nothing wrong with 28 on a running, idling engine. If you're "back again" I'd suggest you append to your prior thread so any background previously stated is attached. I, for one won't look for it. I doubt during the summer if I'll even follow a link.
