madkaw
This what I am running on my 2.4 now. I am getting ready to pull my head and I guess my question is can I reuse a HG like this? At 150.00$ and being used on a NA motor, I am hoping that I can get away with some copper spray and be done with it. Any opinions http://www.courtesyparts.com/l24/l26-head-gasket-required-p-227556.html
josh817
I bought a Nismo HG from Courtesy for $150 8 years ago that was advertised as 0.6MM thickness if I remember correctly. Was metal layers, no idea if that's considered composite. The only reason I justified $150 was because I heard metal headgaskets could be reused though I don't think I would do that now. Worked fine for the 3-4 years I daily drove the car. No signs of leaking. Edited August 23, 2014 by josh817
NewZed
Don't the metal rings around the cylinders and the copper rings around the oil passages crush to fit? And work-harden when they do? Doesn't seem like it would work.
