madkaw
I'd love to tinker with these!! I think I would convert to electronic FI . There's no real markings on them, bso don't know who made them. The owner thinks he snatched these out from under Tony D on an Ebay bid. That could be a story in itself-lol
cockerstar
Would be interesting to add bosses for injectors under the horns such that the injectors would be parallel to the port and had a straight shot at the back of the intake valve. Similar to this: I didn't read this thread at all, but it's where I found the images: http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=132202&start=15 Edited September 28, 2014 by cockerstar
madkaw
Well the picture isn't very good-sorry about that. The injectors do run parallel to the port, you can't see them in that pic. The existing holes would probably have to be enlarged for electronic injectors or bungs installed.
Tony D
Kinsler. Go search Kinsler's site. I wanted the straight set. John Shewbrook sold off the stock of his racing 2.5L number A-3 hydro . That's the origin of them from eBay. "Sho 'Nuff" Boats is weird, you run at max power for the most part...so here you got an L24 blasting along at 9,000 rpms continuously, never letting up, WOT...the while event. The diseased will click to hear it below:

He had the E31 head that was all welded and ported, dry sump system, header, pistons, etc and they went for pennies on the dollar. I think that head sold for $700. I got the headers for $100 though I'm not sure what the heck to do with them since they're backwards. Have the Hillborn injection system from Don Potter which is the same thing as yours Tony, just straight. Who wound up getting the manifold you showed, Madkaw? Tony D
The Mechanical TB stuff is Eggers and Vickers -- at least what Shewbrooke was selling. He also had some straight units. He had a Aviad Pan, but it wasn't a dry sump it was the external pickup conversion to the stock L-Series Pump I got the head, Frank 280ZX got the cam, and JeffP bought the roller rockers. The head did not sell for $700. Mowhahahahaha!
madkaw
The manifold is still there in my buddies shop all covered in saw dust. I keep threatening to wave cash in his face, but no cash to wave right now.

I set an alarm for my nap so I could snipe the auction but I slept right through it and I was PISSED. Maybe I fell asleep when it was at 600-700 or maybe it was a different head? I could have sworn I saw dry sump pump, never saw roller rockers and I'm sure someone is drooling over those. Odd that a boat racer would be the one to investigate roller rockers... I'm sure even if I got my hands on some of the equipment I wouldn't know what to do with it anyway. Sorry for the thread hijack. madkaw
So I haven't measured them but what size typically were the TBs?
josh817
1-13/16" which is like.. 46mm, but that is at the throttle plate. At the head it was something less, like 33mm. I had to bore mine open to 39mm. http://www.hilborninjection.com/product.asp?Id=432&CatId=
