datsturbo18
I have a pretty much stock 83 turbo and i wanna remove the pop off valve but i am not sure if i should. Is there anything that i should do to make sure my engine doesn't blow if i remove it? i am running 700mmHg equivalent to 16psi
skirkland1980
Use regulated compressed air to make sure the waste gate opens at 16 psi. Other than that it should be fine.

Tony D
How are you ripening 16 psi without blocking the Emergency a Relief Valve in the manifold? Seems you've already rendered it inoperable making the engine damage fear moot, It lifts around 10psi!
cgsheen
700mm hg (top mark of the stock 280ZXT boost gauge) equals 13.535756611psi. Still, Tony is right - a working relief valve will pop-off long before you get to 700mm hg... (preventing you from getting to 700mm hg...) And, it makes a noise that's unmistakable! Everyone nearby knows when that thing opens - and wonders what the hell it is.
