280z l28et build

Recommended Posts

Hey just made this account and wanted some advice, and opinions. I swapped the engine into the car about a year ago, I got it running, but I had some serious power loss issues, I found an intake leak. So right now I've got the head off and am getting ready to get it cleaned. And just get it running stock, I plan on doing a major build come August.

Anyways my goal for this car would be autocross, leading up to getting the car on the track. In that sense I would really love to push 26-28 psi. With that in mind could I get some good input

I am no means an expert but... Why did you take the head off ? not because of an intake leak I hope . I think that kind of boost will blow it up pretty quick. I bought mine already built, Forged pistons and shot pinged internals metal head gasket and the build sheet says built for 20lbs. I have run about 1 bar. I think your goals are pretty lofty but as said I am no expert. Better get to some porting and polishing  ;)

Why would you be targeting a number on a boost gauge?  You can get that by adding restrictions.
