Drift Boss
Next up is welding my floor to support the trans mount proper. Today I pulled a whole 240sx throttle cable set up. I even drilled out the pedal support. So I should be able to bolt it all in where I want it.
Furio
Looks great man! Will be taking notes as I'm about to start my 1JZ swap as well haha. Also got my wiring kit from WS, will be interesting to see how they do. Out of curiosity where did you get the A: Top mount kit and B: Downpipe? I'm guessing CXRacing for the top mount, looks like one of their kits. Edited May 21, 2015 by Furio
Drift Boss
Downpipe drift motion. Manifold cxracing =)

Drift Boss
Hopefully this will hold. We will see. I just used what I had at my disposal. I am no fabricater by all means. I measured the drive shaft length to 37 3/4. Not bad. I will be using the stock supra drive shaft, and my stock z shaft. I am taking them to a local driveshaft shop to be made together. Next is to tackle the throttle cable, which is another can of shit to figure out. I got a nissan 240sx whole throttle system, hopefully I can make that work. Drift Boss
Anybody have ideas on throttle cable? I pulled everything from a 240sx in hopes it might work some how. Also..I ordered a 1990 toyota supra 5 speed clutch line, bolts right into the oem 280z clutch line! If anyone has a 1jzgte rear sump oil dip stick assembly, I need it. Also a junk speed sensor. I just need it to plug the hole.
Drift Boss
Oh, and I had a driveshaft made. =) Thanks
Furio
Looking good man. Looks like I'm going to need a shifter extension as well, doesn't look like my box will fit. Where did you get yours if you don't mind me asking?
Drift Boss
I ordered mine threw drift motion. They are very fast and good welds
Drift Boss
I got it started today! Here is the video. I have no friends besides my z. So I made a zip tie throttle cable to start it =) Believe it or not...I didn't have to prime oil pump after setting so long. Also my old carburetor fuel pump ran the 1jz...kinda.. Furio
Nice one man! You've made proper quick progress with this!
Drift Boss
Furio. I noticed you said you got a WS harness. Be careful, it looks like 2 ground wires on the intake, but actually it's just one ground (one eye lid is actually bigger)and the other goes to the (+) terminal on the starter. Only problem I had really.
Furio
Interesting, thanks for the heads up man Haven't gotten that far yet, because my car is RHD I have to modify the steering to clear the mounts, so currently in the process of doing that. Drift Boss
I modified the 240sx upper throttle pedal to the lower 280z throttle pedal. Then I made a simple bracket.
Drift Boss
I ordered everything I need to get it running on its own now. Just a waiting game.
Drift Boss
Put in the head sheild to protect my datsuns wire harness. I just cut it to fit. Then I got in my 1990 supra clutch Slave cylinder. Bolted right up. I am glad I don't have to fight that like the gas pedal. I used a 1990 supra steel Braided Clutch line, went right on to the datsuns hardline. Installed a Walbro 255 in line pump. Starts right up and revs! =) Here is a video. And next is my order from drift motion. A serpentine ac/ps delete kit, and a rear mounted oil dip stick. tim.d
I used to have a 1J supra... loved that engine! A Y & Downpipe really wakes the engine up. Edited June 28, 2015 by tim.d
Drift Boss
Yeah. I had a 1jzgte Toyota Cressida. It was probably one of my funnest cars! Matter of fact, I am buying another one soon. (Maybe tomorrow)
Drift Boss
Got my dash gauge out. Wasn't to bad. I measured I can install a 52mm or 2 1/16 gauges. I ordered some auto meter ones. I ordered water and boost. (Plan on getting tach, fuel, and rpm later) Do you guys remove the oem plastic clear or leave it? Got the "s2000" pulley mod from drift motion installed. Shorten up the shifter and got it all straight rather then bent. ....still waiting for one coupler to show up... N
