Nelsonian
I chose to go with some Forged Volk Te37V in (17"x 9"-10 & 17 x 10" -20) and (245/40/17" & 275/40/17" BF Goodrich Sport Comp 2). Some other 17"- 5 lug wheels I had also been considering for my build consisted of SSR - Professor SP1R, Boze Forged - Shifter or Velocity, CCW - Classic mesh, Barramundi Design Forged - Payara, Bester or Jellynose. I also considered finding some 17" Work VS-XX or VS-KF and having them re-barreled to fit my needs as well as some Watanabe RS8's. As my build has been progressing and power levels rose, I bought new rear quarter panels from Ztrix.com (YZ option) that accommodate a 12" rear wheel and wider than my already applied (Subtle Z option). As much as I love my new Volk TE37 V's with the 275's I may be looking at changing the wheel selection to accommodate a rear 11- 12" and 315's to fill out the new intended flares. I just want to get as much traction to the ground as I can. A few photos I have found along the way showing the wheel styles. There are a few companies, (http://love20bee.com/), (http://wheelflip.com/) that are re- barreling these to fit whatever your needs are. Tire options and a classic banana spoke style are now an option..... Have you talked with either of these companies to see what they charge to re-barrel a wheel? Are we starting a new thread? Nelsonian
I have not contacted either of the two companies mentioned as to inquire on prices but they are listed on each respective site, http://love20bee.com/lip-add-on, https://shop.wheelflip.com/collections/outer-lips-custom-bore ...... I certainly did not intend to derail this application specific thread if I have, but merely bring to light that there are now options of having 2/3 piece wheels re-barreled as to fit in the stock confinements with the wider tires and some of the wheel options out there. I certainly respect keeping the body to stock dimensions and adding width within those parameters, however in my own individual case I also love a tasteful widebody Z that offers different aesthetics and more of a contact patch. mrbls1
Great post. What I was wondering is how high up from the bottom of the shock up did you have to weld up your new perches and what length and spring rate did you use? Lastly how does it drive stiffness wise compared to stock. Did not want to get new rims so I have 18's by 7.5 with 255/45s. which is 27.05 inches tall. christianmoller
Hello, Sorry for lifting an old thread.......... I just want to say thankyou for all the info in this thread, helped me a LOT 😀. Ignore the front wheels, I'm narrowing down fronts to get a proper scrub radius. Rear are 8.5x17 ET+4 (now ET24 9.1/4") front will be 7.3/4" ET24 when done with new hubs. /Christian Gothenburg Sweden Edited May 10, 2023 by christianmoller
