blu240z
I've been searching to see if anyone is using a t56 magnum trans in a 240z if so did you have to modify shifter location on the vehicle.
RebekahsZ
PM SunnyZ. And take a look at his thread: 280z turbo 5.3. I think he works on his shifter location around page 5-7 or so.
texis30O
Shouldn't., but it all depends on the motor mounts. I used the Hawk's 3rd gen mounts with their headers. I have a t56, not magnum. but he shifter location was able to go in the factory location. I am using a MGW shifter for mine. like a glove. Naptown Dave
Don't the Magnums have multiple shifter mounting locations?
R3VO 3VOM
Don't the Magnums have multiple shifter mounting locations? They do. But the standard one is forward of the standard T56 position. I ran into the same issue with my 4 speed with the shifter being forward of the factory hole. socorob
Isn't it possible to get a standard t56 rebuilt using the magnum internals?
alainburon
Tick Performane sells a T56 Magnum that will fit a 98-02 Camaro. That should put the shifter in the proper location if using JCI mounts.
