jbenj00
Has anyone used the gm muscle car ls oil pan kit in the 280z with the jci mounts? https://m.summitracing.com/parts/nal-19212593?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-chevrolet-performance&gclid=COu509uHs9ECFRCHswod7mUOgA
bigwillie67
is the F body pan recommended for that kit? On paper the dimensions appear it would but I'm not familiar with that kit.
jbenj00
The complete fbody pan is only 100 more. Guess I'm ordering that! Thanks
jackjhart
Did we ever get any options for oil pans? I'm building an LS1, It currently does not have an oil pan. Is there a list of ones people have already used? I would like to find one with some good baffling if possible.
jackjhart
Anyone used this? http://www.cxracing.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CXR&Product_Code=OP-LS1-300ZX-for-240Z&Category_Code=240Z
Grandpa 1
I used a camaro oil pan from Rock auto and pickup tube , wind age tray. Nice low profile. Much cheaper.
the350z
I just got mine in and cleared the steering rack, 260z with dirty dingo mounts. although I haven't got a trans hooked up yet.
Redxiii
The350z: are you using the muscle car oil pan then? Hows the clearance under the car?
the350z
I am. Its about 3 1/2 inches from the ground, my car is lowered 2 1/2 inches as well. think I may send it back to summit because it is pretty low.. auxilary
I used the LS3 C6 corvette oil pan/windage tray/pickup tube. Here's the comparison between C6 and F-body oil pans: Fbody oilpan hangs about 3/4" to 1" below the front cross member. C6 alleviates that issue, but if you need to drop the oil pan, the engine needs to be lifted to clear the crossmember for oil pan removal. Savage42
I have the F-body pan and added the Improved Racing (hinged) baffles and the crank scraper. Should be good to go and clearance isn't bad since I didn't slam my car.
the350z
would that be the same LS3 oil pan for the 2014 Camaro?
