RB26DETT
Hi all, since the thread started by Stony (So you want to do an RB swap...)is getting way crowded, lets for once and for all, see who is doing an RB swap in their zeds. Please DO NOT add your details unless you are ACTUALLY doing the swap (have engine ordered and on the way etc) or HAVE DONE the swap!!! Ok I'll start: HybridZ name: RB26DETT Name: Cuong Nguyen Location: Perth, Western Australia Car & colour: Audi Imola Yellow 1973 240Z Engine: RB26DETT Links to pictures: http://www.240z.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1871 http://www.240z.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1872 http://www.240z.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1873 http://www.240z.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1874 http://www.240z.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1875 http://www.240z.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1876 http://www.240z.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1877 http://www.240z.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1878 http://www.240z.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1866 http://www.240z.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1865 Others that I know are (off the top of my head..) Bob_H
Well, my turn. HybridZ name: Bob H Name: Bob Hanvey Location: Norfolk VA,(Navy) Car and color:73 240Z, Green (formerly the Datsun Workshop 3.1L car) Engine: R-33 RB26dett Pulled from a 2000 Stager 260RS No pictures. Possibly a Sports Z article, and a "secret" suspension. I'll tell more when it is done, so don't ask and don't tell if you do know. Expected timeline: Febuary 2003 finished. Others known: Brad, Jason, Matt and me. We have a mailing list together for those actually doing the swap. E-mail me if you want on. You must be ACTUALLY DOING IT to be on,(engine either in possesion or in transit). No lurkers just looking for info. That is what this board is for. -Bob
Guest
RB26 Z, where are you located at? I lived in Okinawa from 1994-2000 and now live in Hiroshima. I would like to know where you did all this and when.. I noticed the base stickers on the windshield. Which shop did you use to do the paint work? and where is the shop Motorworx located? I have a 78 Fairlady 2+2 BNR33 RB26 w/ T78 in mine right now.. Wondering if your still in Oki or not? Rick,
Guest
One more quicky, Which SDS system and what options did you get and what did that run you? I'm running a RebicV that I got for $100 bucks from a guy that crashed a converted Laural... Thanks Again,
RB30-ZED
Good Idea, mine is A Hybrid engine, RB30DE. 3lt, twincam (RB25 head) variable valve timing, RB25 pistons to bring it up to 10.5:1. The engine management is handled by a Delco system but programmable on the run by a Kalmaker development board. Just started really tuning and retiming the inlet cam and changing the cam shift point around, but its very fast corner to corner with that hard edge ATMO feel. From a steady 50mph to 70mph in 4th is around the 4.5 second mark, and 0 to 60 with a very soft take off average 6.3 seconds. So far so good. See links for pics. RB26DETT
Hi all, ok, so this is exactly why we need moderators etc. (to remove or relocate posts) Please keep the replies true to the original post, hint hint ZEROYON - Z !!! Keep the personal messages just that ie PMs, or start a new topic specific thread. No finger pointing at anyone, but it will save people having to read through lots of unrelated posts to the original thread!!! Ok, so I should have put this elsewhere. I have gone back to try and delete/relocate the post, but it can't be done, only edit. Others being a smart arse about it doesn't help as well...was just trying to make the forum better to use for all!!!

Guest Anonymous
I Totally agree, reading through posts like the one below are annoying to me as well. I believe that an unrelated post to an unrelated post, would then of itself, be an unrelated post. Sorry my bust first time using this place and was not aware you could send personal messages... I'm going in the house to flog myself... Guest Anonymous
Running stock Bottom R33, w/ Head Tune, ie..Jun retainers, guides, valves etc..and 6 96lb/h injectors, I'm not sure what cc that is 900cc or so maybe. But a T78 makes the Z (Stupid Fast), I'll have to did up the sheet from HKS Hiroshima when I got it dynoed but it was 567ps at 1.3 Bar (cold day), but that was just for that run.. On average I keep it at .9 (for longevity sake)..70,000 km on it now. But like I said, If I had another car and this was a straight race machine.. I would go your route, but I drive this one everyday to work. And I drive it like it should be and it will go faster than I will. But I ran into the Halfshaft problem like you did of breaking U-Joints.. Here's some links that might help.. http://www.zhome.com/rnt/FordPower/HalfShaft.html http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/tech/R200.htm. Hope this helps, If not its still good gouge..Hey what options did you order your SDS w/ and what did that run you? Also fix the video links on your homepage..(Please)
Zardilla
Hello, HybridZ name: Zardilla Name: Matt B. Location: Washington State Car & colour: 72' 240Z Stock green(for the moment) Engine: RB26DETT (R32) I just got my RB26 last week and am gearing up to do the swap into my 72' 240z. Found a special surprise when I pulled the tranny off last night - the engine has an OS giken clutch. I have yet to assess the life left in it yet, if its shot looks like a new Nissan set up for me. I plan to run the stock ecu and wiring harness barring no unexpected problems. If I do, likely go SDS. Matt

Guest timsRBZ
HybridZ name: zmeisterRB26DETT Name: Tim Deesen Location: San Diego, CA Car & color: 73 240Z primer prepped to be painted british racing green or midnight blue Engine: R33 RB26DETT Hi everyone, I believe my engine is out of an 95 R33. To start with I am going to be using the stock computer/mass air sensors. This car is my uber project that is taking some time. Body:Fiberglass fenders, MSA street flares, Arizona Twin turbo hood. Suspension:Coil overs, tockico 5-ways, Wilwoods on all four Drivetrain:3.9LSD, RB25 tranny, RB26DETT, 280ZXT CVs The RB26 is not in the car yet, sits on the engine stand for now. I want to put in a 6 pt cage and put in some new frame rails. I expect the engine will be putting out around 300HP to start with and I will probably tweak it to 450 later. I have not fabricated the engine mounts yet if any one has diagrams I would be interested. Cuong I really like how your engine sits, if you have specs/diagrams of your engine/tranny mount they would be greatly appreciated! So many projects, so little time. I am currenty working on two 240Z to 280ZXT engine conversions and one 67.5 Roadster with an SR20DET.
