Cooper0513
I'm looking for a widebogy lit under 1k for a 280z/280zx. I'm buying one soon and I'm trying to get a few options. I'm not looking for anything over the top but something with an interesting grille and fender flares,, side skirts would be great but I don't need them. jhm
There are certainly plenty of options out there....but many of them will be over your budget of $1000. MSA Auto offers several kits under your budget (and even a carbon fiber option right at you budget): https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/classic02a01a For high quality, really cool, body parts; ZTrix is hard to beat: https://www.ztrix.com/ I've also heard nothing but good reports on rhdjapan for high quality flares and body parts at pretty reasonable prices: https://www.rhdjapan.com/search/engine/nissan_fairlady-z_s30-l28-09-1975-07-1978/model/nissan_fairlady-z/car/nissan/category/exterior As a side note -- from my experience, it seems like very few vendors offer side skirts anymore -- possibly because they're not as popular as they used to be? I'd suggest that you consider building your own kit....picking and choosing exactly the flares you want, the spoiler you want, etc, etc. I think you'll be happier with the final result, and you'll probably save money doing it this way vs purchasing an entire kit from someone. One last word of caution; I'd recommend staying away from Retro-Spec. They've had several internal issues the last couple years that has hindered their ability to fill orders. They have produced some great products in the past -- I have a set of their ZG flares on one of my cars right now, which I'm very happy with. But I bought them several years ago, prior to the troubles they've experienced in the last 2 or 3 years.

jhm
Oh yeah....forgot to mention....stay away from "this guy" on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Showcars-G-Nose-Conversion-that-fits-a-1970-1978-Nissan-Datsun-240z-260z-280z/113733726948 Dozens of first-hand reports of people getting screwed by him (e.g. never getting their parts, getting their parts but really shoddy construction, etc, etc). Jackyboi
Does anyone know of any body kits for an 82’ 280zx

The front and rear bumper covers fit great with a little trimming. The side skirts are a nightmare and I would not recommend buying them. They both flare out tremendously on the fender and the quarter behind the door and there is no way to mold them "in" for them to sit flush with the body. https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic02a02a/50-1512A
G-Tech
i too have the MSA kit but i have the front bumper with fog lights. the side skirts are a pain to hold close to the fender. i fiberglassed a 6mm stud to the back side and drilled a hole in the fender for it. you are able to reach in thru the wheel well to put a nut on it. Skillard.com just came out with a different body kit for it that is nice looking. and there is no great option for widebody kits other than some old 80's design's. there are some wheel flare options though As stated before STAY AWAY from Showcars.com, i had a horrible experience with them. PS: 280zx is different car than 240z,260z, and 280z. you will not find a kit that makes the front end look like the older Z's Edited April 16, 2021 by G-Tech
dogmeatk
wow @G-Tech that looks super clean with the rectangular holes glassed in! I thought about doing it, but hate working with fiberglass so much that I passed for now. I might fabricate some inserts at some point. As far as adhering the side skirts, I am still on the fence about whether I want to drill into the fender/quarter or fabricate my own set from aluminum. I am also having trouble with the thickness of the fiberglass flange that goes under the door. Mine is crazy thick near the front and I have trouble getting my doors to close even with adjusting the hinges to the reasonable limit of the other door panel gaps. I searched for many months for a urethane kit for the S130 but ultimately never found anything viable. I would pay real good money for a urethane kit with this design.
