mutantZ Posted February 5, 2023 Share Posted February 5, 2023 After i media blasted the my car, I found a series of holes all around the perimeter of the roof. There wasn't a metal seam or weld (inside or outside) that would indicate the roof was replaced. Does anyone know what this is or why it's there? Was my roof caved in at some point? Another chance these were holes for plug welds but there are no welds present Most of these holes have some metal underneath - can you take a photo from inside? mutantZ Posted February 5, 2023 Author Share Posted February 5, 2023 Yes it’s pretty strange. Even the blast shop had no idea what they were done for. It’s all primered inside now, but there were no crinkles or cuts in the inner structure of the roof. The holes that are plugged are filled with the “white worm” of bondo. mutantZ Posted February 15, 2023 Author Share Posted February 15, 2023 Mystery solved! Thanks guys. I don't know what they were thinking in the 70s/80s putting a moisture trap on the roofs of cars.
