Owen Posted November 29, 2001 Share Posted November 29, 2001 Someone emailed me a while ago but I lost the address. Anyway, the question was, how did I get the gauges to get that "sunken-in" to the gauge pod. All I did was remove the stock black bezels from the stock gauges, painted the ugly silver Autometer gauge rims black, and mounted them using c-shaped brakets and spacers. Oh, the stock bezels are put in first (from behind) then the Autometers. May need cardboard or something to get the height right. Guest Anonymous Posted December 7, 2001 Share Posted December 7, 2001 Owen, Yeah you slide the gauge in (I pushed them in from the front), fill the void around the edge of the autometer (or brand X) gauge and the stock dash hole. Smooth with one of your digits (I used a non talc'ed glove just because I hate peeling off silicon from my fingers) and allow it to cure overnight. The gauges are then stuck there and literally need to be cut out, they don't move a iota. Both Jim and I did it this way as well I believe.
