Mikelly
Well this little snow storm allowed my lovely wife and I to get the mudding touch ups, the sponging, and the trim work done. If I can stave off this head cold I'm fighting, I'll prime the whole thing tonight, and shoot it tomorrow night. Then I'll move my stuff in over the coming weekend. I've paid the electrical company to connect my service, but I'm still waiting... I'll also go ahead and bolt down the lift over the next few days! Hilti Bolts are your friend! Next, we'll hang the lights and switches/ outlets... Mike

Guest Aaron
Hilti Bolts are your friend! Mike, Please elaborate on how your lift is bolted to the floor. I've been afraid that I would have to cut out a section of floor, and pour new concrete with the bolts in it.
Mikelly
Aaron, Hilti bolts have an insert. You drill the holes in the floor and install the insert sleeve. Then you move the post back in place lining up the holes, then bolt it down in place. Realy quite simple, and does away with the need to dig a hole and pour new concrete! Terry, you crack me up man! You do realize that if you get finished and don't have pictures posted we're going to have to organize a road trip and check it out in person. - Joe

Mikelly
Well we finished painting this weekend... You can still see seams, and you can still see some booboos... Oh well, screw it, it is a garage. I hung some stuff on the walls and moved one shelf in around all the mess and building supply crap. I'll be moving stuff around, cleaning up, and moving the rest of my stuff this week. I want to be moved OUT of the other garage completely by first full week of March. I still don't have electricity, but I'm gonna call and yell at Va. Power again today... Mike
Guest Neil
I'll be up in Fred-burg the last week of March to visit with my folks. If your finished by then, you should have an open house (garage). I'd love to see the finished project, talk about Z's, meet other people from this site, etc. It could be a miniature event. I don't mean to sound pushy or put any pressure on you, but the completion of your garage would be as good of a reason as any for some Hybridz-ers to get together. Just a thought. Mikelly
I'll take it under consideration... We will be hosting an event, probably June time-frame this year, so we can get folks in with their cars, and we'll have the lift completely functional, as well as the electricity in by then I'm sure. I'll let others speak for themselves about coming down to hang out that weekend... I'm game for it! We could fire up the grill and Chill... I'm always up for HybridZ company! Mikelly
Well I'm over half way into the moving In phase... Got my welding station set up, got some of the shelves mounted on the walls, got my large cabinets set up, one of my work benches and all of my extra steel moved. I have all my chemicals moved, but still need to hang more shelves and move LOTS more boxes. I'll do that all this afternoon... I also have to get a set of TC Rods boxed up for one of our members... and drill some holes for another set of tc rod brackets for another member... I think I'll have enough stock to make up another couple of front arms and rods if someone wants a front setup.. I'll move the rest of this weekend, and hopefully bolt down my lift if I hook up with my neighbor with the hammer drill... $150 for Hilti bolts... Sumo
I was just curious Mike, do they require you to have a fire proof cabinet like the ones auto paint and body shops use for their paint and chemicals?
Mikelly
Not that I'm aware of... If they do, I'll just get rid of the chemicals for the inspection. This is a private home garage, so I hope not... Mike
Sumo
I dont think they require those for home garages, i was just wondering.
BLKMGK
What's involved in bolting down the lift? I've been talking to my neighbor about my project this coming Summer, he says he can do it cheaper and with the barn roof I want - w/space above. A lift is 100% in the plan
Mikelly
Jim, YOu just need to make sure that you have a thick enough PAD of concrete... They recommend a 6 inch thick slab if you are going with a 9000-10000# unit...I had a 6 inch thick 3500PSI Fibermesh pad poured. You then need some HILTI bolts that will be used to secure it once you drill the holes in the concrete. Mike
