Guest ON3GO
i dont think 2 1/2 is big enough for that enigne...........
SleeperZ
i dont think 2 1/2 is big enough for that enigne........... I don't think DUAL 2-1/2" will be a restriction But I don't know about noise - 97 dB is very loud, and turbos really take the edge off the noise, so you might be ok. Maybe just have a contingency plan to install mufflers...
Guest Enraged
i would suggest getting a crush bent 3 exhaust with a cheap muffler and a stainless tip, then pick up an electric cutout. stock type quiet exhaust for daily driving/cruising, open downpipe thanks to the electric cutout for racing. a few guys i know with supras run this type of setup, and even on stock boost its an easy 20 rwhp jump for the cutout over stock type exhaust. http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/mpp.htm
stony
dual 2 1/2 inch all the way the back? if so will flow plenty and be very loud without mufflers.
Mudge
Cars dont idle or daily drive at 97db, tracks nearby have WOT rules lower than that, dont worry about it.
Guest Drb26Z
Yeah it would be 2 1/2" SS all the way back, if thats possible. At the moment I'm just collecting information and planning my RB26Z, and of course i gotta get the money Thanks guys Jonny
Guest 81na ZX
HKS makes a 100mm R34 exhaust = 7854 mm^2 x-section 2 x 2.5" (63.5mm) = 2 x 3167 = 6334 mm^2 For comparison, a 3" exhaust is 4560 So unless you going to be pushing about 1000hp, dual 2.5"s should suffice. In Michigan (for comparison) the law states that at Idle, a car can't exceed 87 dBA, WOT 95-ish dBA. Drag strips have differnt rules obviously.
