please help this is driving me nuts!!!!

i am puting a new motor in my 280z i got the motor from a friend who pulled it out of his wrecked zx it had a automatic tranny mine is a 4spd the end of the crankshaft is a little diffrent were the fly wheel goes it looks like eveything will bolt up but the hole were the pilot bushing goes seems to be a little smaller and it wont go in do i need a different bushing? switch crankshaft?or ream the hole out a little? or? any help would be great

That's strange. The turbo motors I pull, attached to auto trannies, have no pilot bushing at all. AFAIK, all the cranks are the same, but go buy a pilot bushing specifically for the car which your motor came out of.

 

If it still won't fit, have it reamed out before you install it.
