Guest thepenguin99
Ok, I am considering getting 215/45/17 tires instead of 215/40/17 tires because of the load rating difference. I originally wanted the 40 series because the diameter would be smaller (23.9"). I also have no idea what the original tire diameter was for my 240z. My question is do think the 45 series tire (24.6") would make my car look jacked up? Also, do you think it will fit without any problems using the stock front valance? thx Nathan
z ya
Is your car lowered?? My front tires are 24.7 tall and I think it looks just right. It is lowered 1" in the front. The 45's will help fill the wheel well so that you dont look like you have a bunch of air space over your tires.
Guest thepenguin99
My car isn't lowered but I plan on lowering it ~1" when I freshen up the suspension. After reading some of the archives it seems that the 45 series tires might even be a better choice than the 40s height wise.
SleeperZ
Yes, the stock diameter is close to 25". 195/70/14 and 205/60/15 are stock tire sizes - I believe the diameters are around 24.9".
74_5.0L_Z
I'm running 245/50/15 (street tires), and 245/45/16(autocross tires). Both sets are 24.7 inch diameter, and look good on the car. I can only run these tires inside the stock wheel wells because I have coilovers, and the correct back space. 15x8 w5" b.s, and 16 x 8 w 5" b.s
