Phantom
Strut Bar looks very much like the one offered in the Motorport Auto catalog for $109.95. (800) 631-6331 Personally I like the Top End Racing versions. Not as pretty but much more functional. http://www.racetep.com
72zcar
I don't like it... looks bent. Who cars about the pivot points and all that (well, i care a little). Why have a bent bar on the back...makes no sense
260DET
The whole thing looks too light to me. It is quite common in race cars to have a much stronger rigid bar which doubles as a seat harness rear mount. Never seen one fail yet. 8)
Savage42
I'm no chassis guru but I agree' date=' I see nothing wrong with rod ends. It would seem wrong to expect an STB to act as a cage, IMO its there to avoid the strut towers coming together under load, if you want to stiffen up the front further then start welding some bars in there, JMO.[/quote'] I disagree. With rod ends installed in the brace the strut towers will still 'twist' under load. Having the above type installed is better than nothing, but not perfectly ideal. Tim There is nothing wrong with that setup. If the car is putting more than tension/compression on the bar, then the shell is one loose POS. Of course, a trianglated bar that also mounts to the firewall is the most ideal.
