Doug71zt
I need some new plugs for my L28 turbo - I'm wondering what everyone is using. I've heard that one heat range colder works well on higher output turbo engines. How about brand? Thanks - Doug
J Taylor
NGK, all the way. I use a "7" in my z which is one step colder but if you running a mild setup I probably wouldn't bother. JT
Lockjaw
I use Bosch dual electrode platinums from a 98 BMW M3. They work well and are easy to index.
SleeperZ
Ditto on the NGK 7 temperature range. The BMW application sounds interesting too, no monkeying with gap it sounds like.
yo2001
NGK 7's for me too.
jgkurz
I run the NGK BPR6ES-11. Do you guys notice any difference with the "7"'s? Good or Bad?
SleeperZ
I run the NGK BPR6ES-11. Do you guys notice any difference with the "7"'s? Good or Bad? Running 14 psi boost, the 6s will be bleached white. The 7s remain a nice tan color.
Lockjaw
The M3 plugs I use are the same heat range as an NGK, which is a 7. FWIW the guy that put me on them sold me a set of heat range 2's, which are way to hot. Needless to say, his tuning tips are not listened to anymore. I don't have to gap them, and I don't have trouble firing them with the stock coil, no matter how much boost I have run. Nice clean tan burn too.
