hey man, welcome to the world of hybrids.

short answer, yes it will fit and work to all your questions.

long answer:

do a search of this forum.

the question has been asked many times and you will be amazed at what you will find about the swap and how easy it really is.

bottom line, do what fl327 said and get it running. don't worry about the turbo yet. the car is fun w/o it.

again, seach this forum and the L6 forum and you will find the answers to all your questions.

hey rags... he also has just a motor 4sale so im going to buy that instead of the whole car.....so u can still get it :)

so i cant get the engine hooked up and just not hook up the turbo right away...and it will run fine? does the 280 tranny bolt right up to it? all the 280 needs right now to run is a clutch but i wanted to get this out of the way....what should i use for a clutch if i do install the l28et...

-------swap the turbo exhaust manifold for the NA exhaust manifold

and hook up the 280z intake manifold and wire it-done deal.

will run just like a stock 280z' date=' maybe slower though, 7.4-1 compression

probably get 30mpg on 87 though.

---------------like it belongs there.

--------------use a clutch that will match the year and tranny in the car currently. if you plan to go turbo maybe you should install a ACT or a CENTERFORCE clutch so you wont have a slip problem when you go turbo.

why dont you just do a simple stock clutch install and drive the 280z around bone stock while you do your celica, finish that up and then do the turbo conversion? a clutch will take you a day and you will have a car to drive while you build your other car up, if you take em both down youre back on the bus. just my thoughts.

Uhm, don't even think about it! No it won't run fine.

I'd suggest following others advice here, get the car running. Do some research on turbos and turbo engines, and then decide whether you want to do the turbo swap or not. Knowledge is probably the most valuable tool you can have when doing a swap like this. (though we've proved time and time again that it isn't a necessity!!) ;)
