HICKL
I'm gettin really close to install! I am wondering what you guys think about header wrap. I have a set of block huggers, not sure of the brand as I got them from a guy on this site. They have pretty thick flanges and seem to be of decent quality. Anywho, I wondering if I should use header wrap. What are the pros and cons od the stuff, I have read that it voids header warranties, does it cause them to rust or what? Bottom line, should I use it or not and why. Thanks Jeff
Guest Damn Cracker
There was a thread on the L6 forum not too long ago, try searching. the genreal consencouse seemed to be that header wrap was good for race cars, but not for street cars, becouse it trapped moisture, and causes headers to rot from the inside. dmanzo57
I've gone over 30,000 miles in about 2 1/2 years since I wrapped my Hooker block huggers and they seem to be holding up well.... Don
utvolman99
what about wrapping coated headers? I know you cover up the bling bling but would it help? If so would you still have problems with rust?
