Today I was driving down one of the longer faster roads here in Columbus just crusing around enjoying the sunshine. I pulled up to a light next to an 93 Porsche 911 turbo. I was blipping the throttle cause i set my idle way to low and I guess he figured I wanted to race. So when it turns green he goes tarin a$$ down the road as i slowly started off not knowing he wanted to race. So then I figured I would join the fun but he was already about 100 yards down the road when I saw a state trooper trying to turn left. The Porsche just hit him right behind the left rear tire completely spinning the cop around. I got up there and asked if they were ok and they were so I continued on my way. But ya, thats probally the worst/stupidest thing I have ever seen. Just thought Id share.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa

HAH

Man... that would be funny to see.

That man is going to get the book thrown at him!

that's why you have to be careful...

there are no cops at autocross events, or dragstrips. So you dont have to worry about totaling your car and hitting a trooper.

The consequences are what make it REALLY exciting...

(this is the mantra i need to keep running through my head. i am ONE DAY from DRIVING my V8Z!)

About 10 years ago I saw two local cops pulled up next to the high school talking to each other. They apparently finished the conversation, and both backed up and turned right into each other. That's the best one I've seen. You gotta wonder what the police report looked like!!!

Gotta love the stupid ones...

You'd think being at the drag strip is safe from cops. Well just west of Toronto, the police set up a drag net, and stopped and inspected every car leaving the drag strip.

Geez! they want people to stop racing on the street, yet they wait at the exit of the race track and harrass everyone on the way out!

The very next weekend, some of the guys did not want to go to the track for fear of being harrassed again... its ok though..they went to some back streets to race instead...at least there were no cops...

What are they trying to do?... get everyone to congregate at one location so they can catch everyone, and get a profile of all the "race cars" so they can single them out later on the street?

I know.. it sounds kinda paranoid, but it sure stirred up more sh** around the GTA.

Damned if you damned if ya don't... nice situation to live with eh?

Just drive it more underground...

ZR8ED, that is $H!ttY of the cops to do that. Here in winnipeg we have a big problem on sundays with street racing. You should see it at 9:00PM on a sunday, it's crazy on the main streets down town it is so packed it is worse than rush hour. I would say about two times more cars than rush hour.

I wish they would make a track closer. I have to drive 1hour (not that that is that bad) to get to a track that is getting worn out, it was an old air strip...

I can't help but wonder if 1) the driver of the police car did not see the oncoming 911 before making a left turn, 2) if he did see him, did he not have the capability to correctly judge the speed of the 911, and 3) perhaps the policeman did see the 911, and correctly judged the speed, and decided to make a point in a dramatic manner.

ZR8ED they did that too one here in florida...

cops waited outside and inspeced everybodys car...

gave a few ppl tickets and arrested a few ppl for having nitrous inside the car, and open... like not in the trunk.. funny thing is the cars that got in the most trouble didnt have trunks... they were like hatch back civics of fastback 240SX's..

i cant stand cops that live around my area.....

Police have a human tendency to become complacent.... I have had several friends on various forces, and I was constantly giving them crap about the little things they took for granted, like always being ceded the right-of-way, because of the cars they drive. I would imagine that officer that got smacked by the porche probably didnt take the time to "look both ways" and assumed anyone coming would slow down in a hurry.

I had some a**hole cop pull right in front of me. I was going straight and he just makes a right turn right in front. I almost hit him. I should've honked, but I was afraid of the consequences. He didn't have his lights flashing, so I know he wasn't on a call and he did this when I was the only car for at least 200 yards both ways.
