I was driving home in the G20 from dropping the lady off at work. Im about 6 miles from home, when this chevy truck comes speeding on the freeway from the onramp, and cuts across 4 lanes of traffic and cuts me off a few INCHES from my bumper, and im in the #1 lane!!! The guy would have knocked me into the guard rail if i didnt slam on the brakes. I honked the horn, and the guy slammed on his brakes and i almost rear ended him. I move over to the #4 lane and try to stay out of his way. His passengers were flipping me off, yelling things out the window at me. The driver moves the truck over to the #3 lane beside me and jerks the wheel as to run me off the road. I rolled down me window and told him to stop because i had my 5month old son in the back seat, and i pointed to my baby. The guys kept trying to run me off the road and i eventually got off the freeway a split second before i couldnt make the offramp by cutting over the solid lines, and i almost hit the barriers.

What the hell is wrong with people? If i had a gun with me, this probably would have been one of those cases that someone got their brains splattered all over the freeway. Thank god i dont carry a gun!

Probably a bunch of punk ass kids with no concern for human life. You this kind of crap more and more every year.:evil: What really makes me mad is that you showed them your son and they kept on, I really think I would have went off the edge, maybe not just then, but if I ever saw that truck again without my son, there would be hell to pay. I dont have much of a tolerance at all for this sort of crap at all.

I used a cell phone to report a drunk driver who was swerving into oncoming traffic (!) a few years ago. The 911 operator just told me to pull over and let him go. She didn't sound very enthusiastic about sending the police out either, I tried to give her the license plate # and she wasn't interested. Maybe that was just CA apathy but it pissed me off... the guy was a serious danger to the people going the other direction.

Its no use calling the CHP. In cali, if you call 911 from a cell phone, CHP picks up the call. The other night, pam and i were following a drunk driver that was trying his hardest to stay in his lane on the 710fwy. It was 2am. I called 911 and waited for 10 minutes before i got a live operator. By this time we already followed him from the 710, down Anaheim Blvd, to his HOUSE! The guy already went in. The CHP finally picked up the call and transferred me to the Long Beach PD. The lady was quick on the PD side, but the CHP pickup has to be addressed. 10 minutes, im not kidding, i could crash off the side of the road, and blead to death before my call is

even picked up!

And yes, they do have a token voice that says "your call will be answered by the next available operator". I couldnt believe it!

David's right on the money about 911 on a cell. I was on a job in Oakland when I noticed a building on the same block with puffs of smoke coming out a window. I was on the roof and called 911 immediately on my cell. Twenty minutes later the phone was still ringing but the building was engulfed.

Thats unbelivable! I didnt realise the 911 situation in USA was so bad... Over here in Aus we have 000, last time i used it i got through to an operater straight away, and the police were here in minutes! You guys got it bad :(

Problem is people over here, people phone 911 for non emergency calls which ties up teh lines drastically.

"Hello, 911?...My car is running funny on the freeway, what should I do?", or

"Hello, 911, which exit is it for the zoo?" (someone obviously forgot their way home)...

This is crap that actually happens. It has gotten so bad that the CHP now has TV ads telling these morons not to dial 911 unless it's an emergency. Apparently, judging from the ads, when people don't activate their cell's key lock and they bump the phone, it calls 911 alot too.....
