2Forty
Any recommendations on block hugger headers? I have seen many on EBay for less than $100.00. Hookers are over $200.00. I'd like ceramic coated or chrome.
Wagz
Lots of sources for block huggers coated, chromed, etc. but this is the least expensive I have seen that are coated. Thermal Tech I'm considering buying these myself. I believe a few guys on this board have used them and are happy with 'em.
spacecoastz
I have a set of block huggers with thermal wrap on them. The flanges are nice and thick. Can't tell who made them without unwrapping them. Anyway I've toyed with the idea of selling them a couple of times if your interested I'll take 75.00 for them plus shipping. I assume you meant gm small block right? Z_dude99@hotmail.com
Pyro
Make sure that the block huggers you use have 3/8" thick flanges. The Hooker Super Comp block huggers (PN 2100) have the 3/8" thick flange. FYI, you will lose HP with the block huggers as compared to full length headers. However, block huggers are much better than exhaust manifolds. I recently read a header dyno test result which showed the blocker hugger heads splitting the gap between full length headers and stock manifolds. awd92gsx
Are there any certain styles of block hugger headers that need to be used? or...are all block huggers pretty much the same and can be used in a 1G V8 swap...??

Wagz
Bill - On SBCs it makes a difference only with respect to angle or straight plug heads. You can get the Thermal Tech headers here

Guest the_dj
I'm running the Thermal Tech angle plug block huggers. The finish on them is as tough as you can get and looks good. Took a little hammering on the side of the collector to get it to not tough my steering column...I'm talking maybe 1/4"...I did it with a regular hammer while holding it in my hand, then put it back on the engine and it fit fine. The guy I talked to when I ordered them was also very friendly. I definately recommend them. Sam
Bartman
Hi everyone, I just called Thermal Tech, and they seem very friendly and helpful. I'm looking for a header solution for a LS1/T56 conversion into a 1973 240Z. Thermal Tech is going to find out if they have a pair of headers that will work for this application. Good products, good folks - What more could we ask for. They can also custom coat other parts for you. Top notch. - Joe
