Rendezvous - Claude Lelouch - 1977

 

French Director, Claude Lelouch, straped a camera to the front of his

V-12 Ferrari 275GTB and runs rampant through the streets of Paris.

He uses sidewalks for streets, is color-blind to red lights and blurs by

pedestrians. The sound of the exhaust booming off the buildings, the

view as he eclipses 100 mph on city streets, this is a mix of sound and

sight that should not be missed. Rendez-vous is an adrenaline rush of

a ride that just plain blows you away. No Hollywood, no stunts, no one

else, just you and the Ferrari. Trust me, you have never seen anything

like this before, and you may never again.

That's a good video. However, as far as never seeing it again, I don't know about that. I think he may have been topped.

I watched this on Sunday. Really cool. Shame that the quality isn't a little better, but a nice long movie!!

I played it for my 3 year old son. He got a huge kick out of it....kept saying stuff like:

" He's gonna craaaash!!"

and

" The police are gonna give him a ticket!!"

 

Man I gotta stop him from hanging out with Mom so much!!

I watched it and for the size of the file, I thought it would be a bit longer . It was neat to see him zipping through city streets and all, but the edited in sounds of the tires screaching and the engine reving kind of took away from the video. You can tell it was not the actuall sound that was from the actuall run, because you can hear two sound clips overlap when he is slowing down to when he gives it throttle . All in all it was pretty cool though. I would love to get my hands on the 350Z DVD also called "Rendezvous" (sp?). I saw it on SpeedVision a while back and I couldn't believe that the whole video was uncut. You were seriously watching on the edge of your seat, wondering if he was going to crash... it was really cool! Speaking of which, does anybody have the 350Z DVD that I could borrow for a few days?

I stumbled on the sound track about a year ago. Then I found out it was a video. Apparently the whole thing has been remastered and turned out quite well. But you can only expect so much from the date and the fact that it was shot at dawn.

I enjoyed the trailer for Getaway in Stockholm.

There was one more that was out, were a guy let his F40 go. He ended up getting busted when he sold the videos on line. But I cant seem to find it.

I just thought Rendezvous was something a little different to share.
