Guest gtmattz
so, i was looking thru the 'want ads' on the local radio stations website and came across: "2 datsun Z cars both run, only 1 has title $700" needless to say I went to call immediately, but alas, it was 11:30 so I had to wait till this morning to call. called the #... an old lady answers, I ask about the cars, 1 is a 76 260z runs (like i care, i want the shell) NO RUST (according to the old lady) just needs a fuel pump, the other is an early 80's 280zx, runs but no title. Seems her son was going to put the fuel injected l28 into the 260, but never did anything, so the mom decided it was time to clean the yard and im the lucky winner pictures to come

Guest gtmattz
So I am going to be heading out to get the full info on these cars, will the definite answer tonite, but I called and talked to the old ladys husband, he didnt state any years, but HE says that its a 240 and a 280, not a 260 and 280zx.. Ill find out tonite at any rate, going to give the visual inspection and seal the deal. Then sunday I will go get them, might be able to get the 240 running and drive it home! they have been sitting for a little less than a year he said.. Im so excited
BillZ260
Man, that is a good deal, best of luck. I thought the later year 260's were all 2+2's, only 260 coupes were

Guest gtmattz
Checked them out tonite after work, 2 complete 1975 Z cars. EFI, one is 5 speed, other auto. odd part, the one title I received, the car is listed as a 1975 240Z, altho my chiltons says that 1975 was the 1st year of the 280. I am thinking the title is not correct in that aspect, probably a clerical error somewhere along the line. So i have 2 more 280z's, the titled shell is an auto, is this a problem if i want to put the 5spd in it?
Guest gtmattz
Well I got the 1st one home last night. Got a picture of it on the trailer at the gas station last night, then this morning when I went to take off for work, I realised that my truck and the Z have matching paint! Its like a racing team or something so I had to get a picture of them both, the trailer matches as well (and what a crappy trailer, remind me not to borrow this one again). http://www.simbey.com/gtmattz/ontrailer.jpg http://www.simbey.com/gtmattz/matchingpaint.jpg http://www.simbey.com/gtmattz/zside.jpg the truck is the engine donor, seems fitting to use it to get the cars home http://www.simbey.com/gtmattz/jimmyengine.jpg anyone have a T5w/bellhousing (or haev a lead on one) in my general area? (northern nevada, noth cal, south idaho or oregon, western utah)

Guest gtmattz
yep yep, will be sitting in my yard before i go to bed tonite. at work right now but am off in about 45 min, then i will be headed out to get it. have some snaps of it and the other tomorrow uploaded to my site. going to start getting the white one (other is blue) running this weekend (well my weekend sun-mon). supposedly it runs and drives fine, just has sat for about 8-10 months since the guy last messed with it. so im hoping it wont be much of a problem. Guest gtmattz
OMG.. I got the other Z. I didnt really check it out before, as it was dark and we were concerned with loading the first, as well as there was some junk leaned against it and the dirvers side and back were hidden. well we rolled it out and tho body is beautiful, only problem i can find is that the front of the hood is dented, but i have a good hood on the other. i went over this and cant find even any small dings from people opening doors into it.. no rust either. its just beautiful. Looks like I may be able to get the title for this one, which is good, since it is going to require almost no bodywork.. this car alone was worth the seven hundred bones imho. I was blown away when we got it all uncovered and rolled it out. i was expecting like the whole rear to be gutted or rust or something, but its soooo straight. here are some quick pictures: http://www.simbey.com/gtmattz/rtside.jpg http://www.simbey.com/gtmattz/ltside.jpg suh-weeeet
