HRE Performance Wheels?

Recommended Posts

Anyone using these? They have some decent styles that appear as if they might fit our cars, particularly the 340 series which comprises several styles, the 340 or 341 look to be light and brake cooling friendly. US$650, which I assume is for a set. Lots of sizes too including 15x8", no specific offset etc details although they mention that the 340 series is for older cars.

Have a look at http://www.hrewheels.com/Wheels/

Ahhh, sounded too good to be true at that price for a set. Nice looking wheels, oh well, looks like if you want something outside the square you have to pay for it. The Simmons OM 15 in 15x8" for AU$572 each (around US$420?) look like the final choice.

Check them out http://www.simmonswheel.com.au/range.html#

Yes, that is per wheel. They are expensive, but really nice. They will also customize fitment for just about any vehicle. The $650 wheels are the cheap ones, I' know people who have spent over $6k for a set.

Too much for me

I want the HRE 540 or 540R wheels for my car. The best price I've found for the 540 so far was $922.00 per wheel. Another $100.00 to get them shipped to my house. This was for 17x8 5x114.3 lugs and 20mm offset. I was planning on some 235/45-17 Dunlop SP Sport 9000 tires which are $149.00 a piece. The whole package with mounting and balancing would come in at about $4500.00....

They'd look soooo good though.

Hmmm, bit out of my bang for buck league.:)

Speaking of value, the Performance Challenger are a good deal at ~ AU$200 each, up to ten inches wide though eights will do me. Paint the centers black and with the already polished rims look quite OK for road/track.

See them at the bottom right http://www.performancewheels.com.au/classic.htm

I asked this same question awhile ago but got no response. PER WHEEL!?!?!

Man I knew it was too good to be true. I also figured that was why they never really say "per wheel" on their site. They don't want to scare away potential customers before they have a chance to fall in love with their product!! I guess I will be deleting that link from my favorites list. My keyboard will be much drier from me not drooling all over it!!! :D

HRE Wheels are nothing short of ture "Metal Sculpture" and "Automotive Art". I would love to have a set on my ZXT, but the prices make me shudder.

In my younger more violent spending days I would have bought a set without thinking twice, fast forward to now, a wife, a mortgage and bills....well I have to settle for Honda Wheels and adapters....

Oh well, c'est la vie!

Yeah, HRE wheels are VERY nice. They are extremely expensive but worth it. Also, they are completely custom so you can get a variety of finishes and sizes, offsets, etc. I will buy 540R's once I can afford them but, I'll probably get some CCW mesh wheels for the time being seing as they are about 1/2 the price of HRE's! I really like how custom HRE's are. I mean, you can order whatever offset, bolt pattern etc. If you have flares or some sort of custom suspension that would require different offset wheels to really fill out the wheel well, all you have to do is find out the offset and HRE will make it! No more searching around for wheels that will fit properly.

I am currently starting a performance parts business in San Diego,Ca. I want to provide higher end performance upgrades for older Japanese vehicles. We will be selling parts for vehicles such as Datsun 510s, Mazda RX2/3/7 and early Datsun Z cars. I already have access to HRE wheels and Kinesis wheels.

John (jgkurz), when you are finally ready to buy let me know. Since you are a Hybrid Z member, I'll sell you the any style HRE 540 for $850 per wheel plus shipping. For those guys who want a less expensive set of 3 piece HRE wheels, I can also get the HRE 340 wheels in 17X8 for about $2600 per set. HRE 340 are the same quality as HRE 540 but have a little less bling bling. Darius Blown LT1 240Z rolls on HRE 340s. All HRE wheels are made to order so expect to wait 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.

If you are looking for a more serious rim, you should also consider Kinesis. These rims are for the serious racer. They offer a smaller selection but the quality of the rims are superb. They retail for about the same price as HRE 540s

I have ran HRE and Kinesis on my 280Z and they both fit perfectly without coil overs. I currently run a pair on Kinesis wheels which are 17X7 front and 17X8 rear. Both companies websites are listed below so take a look.
