yea, thats my mate nick from austraillia, unfortunatly his project has been on pause for SOME time now. Funny i just emailed him this morning to see what he was upto. Will prolly be the same as last time, tring to feed himself, in the mean time i will keep trying to buy his taillights hehe.

Anyways, i will carry on the idea here in the US, NYC that is. i'm half way through installing a 1998 SR20det engine into my 71 240Z. I plan to start with stage 1 upgrades like, down pipe, exhaust elbo, tube mani, stock ball bearing T28, front mount IC, EVC4 (15psi) SAFC2, fuel cell, inline pump, and upgraded radiator/fans, my drive train consists of R200 (4.11's) and 280ZXT CV shafts (adapter plates). I'm figuring with this setup i should be able to put down just over 300whp. we mesured the drive shaft to be around 2 feet long so there will be less power loss. i'll play with this setup for a while, try and run a 12.4 if not, i'll toss in a GT25 or GT2835 if i want to get silly and upgrade the injectors and headgasket.

Here are some PICS of the project being done at http://www.spipowerexcel.com

in NJ. click the link below then click view pics...

Interesting how the stock cross member is used, John C. of Betamotorsports made a brand new one from scratch. Had to notch the stock crossmember if I remember correctly...

Just wondering what the pros and cons are for each method.

yes, we cocked our motors to the side which is how it sits in the silvia/180sx.

And those are skyline R32 taillights with lots of modification done to them.

Using a crossmemeber made from scratch is obviously eaiser to do, and allows you to move the motor as far back as you would like. Nick is a mad man making those brackets, i give him mad props! :)

Cool little mounts, soild, ouch..that would not fly on NY streets. we utilized the stock S14 mounts, had to cut one up though to clear the steering shaft. beta car looks to have a T78 peeking out, oh its a big one. :D

Hi Guys, just to let you know that ther has been a little progress on the beast. I've been working on the engine bay for some time now trying to get all the small & time consuming things sorted & finished. Things like alloy braces, brackets etc & my custom T3 exhaust manifold. So here's a couple of pics. I hope to have the bay completed in 2-3 weeks.

Hey John, you want to buy my tail lights? NO CHANCE!

DAmn! was worth a shot lol. That color is nuts, and perfect for your project since the car will be worth gold when your done. :)

Today we drop the engine in for the last time and start working around it :)
