Guest Nameless EJ6
Are there any companies or members here that can custom make mounts for putting the RB26DETT into the elder Z cars? Specifically the 240z? I'm new to the Z stuff. I was originally planning on putting my RB26DETT into a 240sx, but there's just something sexual about an older Z that grabs my attention, so I may sway that direction depending on options and pricing. I did search about the mounts, but there are so many threads and I don't want to dig through them to find something simple. I appologize if this makes anyone mad - I'm sure it's been asked a billion times. Thanks for the help. BTW: My engine is ready to drop ('98 RB26DETT/RB25DET gearbox), just trying to decide on the car.

skyline240z
Hi there Joel forwarded your link to me on hybridz, I have the motor mounts for a rb 26 to a 240z conversion. They are CNC machined from billet Alum, If you like, I can e-mail you some pics. Rick P.S. How is your engine rebuild going Joel.

240hoke
Wow I like those mounts. I will hopefully be buying a set in the near future. How many sets are availible? Are they only avalible off ebay? -Austin
240hoke
also.... does the rb25 require the same oilpan modifications as the rb26? if so where is a good place to find those parts?
Guest 81na ZX
also.... does the rb25 require the same oilpan modifications as the rb26? Yes. he only RB engine that doesn't need the modifications are the RB20DET's out of the z31 if so where is a good place to find those parts? Either fab them yourself or Nissan Japan/Australia/or NZ (Pan and pickup from a z31 200zr)
skyline240z
Yeah, those are my mounts on eBay. I'm going to be making some more soon, so if anyone wants some, let me know. I have one set left right now. I sell them direct and on eBay. If anyone needs more info on oilpan conversions for a Z, you can also check out McKinney Motorsports in California http://www.mckinneymotorsports.com Rick
Guest zline
Gary and the guys over at Mckinney are generally good guys but usually out of stock
jgkurz
Those are nice motor mounts! Just curious... What do the RB26 folks do for manual transmission mounts? Some day I might do the swap.
Guest zline
custom pretty easy to make. i usualy just make a tubular tranny xmember that doubles as a brace for the trans tunnel and mount
stony
also.... does the rb25 require the same oilpan modifications as the rb26? if so where is a good place to find those parts? You still need the rb20 Z-31 oil pan and oil pickup.... but it does not need the same mods the rb26 block needs. everything bolts up. stony
any of these mounts still available?
akeizm
Wow, $250 US for those mounts. I'm getting a set of RB mounts into a 260z for $125 AUD
stony
are you getting the z31 rb20 mounts for that price, or a set of custom made units? the units mentioned above a CNC'd pieces and are very good looking they also set the motor back and as low as possible so a custom driveshaft will be needed. I will be getting a set as soon as i can find someone that still has them for sale. with my new motor and powerglide combo i will need a new drivesahft, downpipe and intercooler pipe anyways. akeizm
These mounts are custom made by these people http://www.rodshop.com.au/ They also I believe sell sumps to go on RB's to install into Z's. I sent them an email away to find out. My friend said to me they do but I'll ask myself anyway. Also sell mounts for V8's into Z's. Pretty awsome store. stony
Since you are in aus maybe just call them they take forever to reply. i bought my powerglide adapter thru them. Aks if the mounts set the motor to the rear and as low as possible. or if the just dupicated the z31 rb mounts. thanks Stony
