jtmny1999
The Holes in my crakshaft got stripped I guess the older owner tighten them too much. Am putting a new clutch form RPS 6 puck because the stock one slipps. Any idea how to fix The crankshaft? without taking the motor out? dmyntti
Maybe use some Helicoil thread inserts. You will drill the current holes a little oversize and tap with a special tap. Then you thread the special insert in with a special tool and are set. The process isn't too bad and doesn't cost too much either.
Guest 77vegasz
There is a solid heavy duty thread insert called a Keensert. They are available from McMaster carr. They install in the same method as a Helicoil, but are for heavy duty applications. Jon

violacleff
Same thing happened to me two weeks ago. I just bought a tap from the local hardware store and rethreaded it. Took about 5 min. Seems like noone carried the right size in stock though. I had to get it special ordered.
