BillZ260
It seems as if someone or something keeps wanting to keep me from finishing the JTR project! So we are in the boat, tubing (me on the tube) have loads of fun and this tube is slowly loosing pressure. I go outside the wake in a big U turn and there isn't much of the tube left and I can only hold the rope so long. I realize I am going to get ditched so I let go and prepaired to hit the water and at the moment I hit the water, it was like someone had hit me in the ribs with something VERY LARGE! I can barely breath and my buddies help me out of the water, pull off the life jacket and my ribs on the left side are about an inch farther out than the ones on the left... hmmm sometiing aint right. Go to the hosptal and they say there was no need to xray since I was breathing fine and such. I just tore the muscle and maybe a small fracture. My wife drove in to take me home and get me some drugs, so here I am. May take a couple of days off work since the perkoset and muscle relaxers keep me out of a car. The pain is constant and something keeps poppin in and out if I get to active and hurts a LOT when that happens. So anyway, just thought I would share my excuse for not working on the Z for at least a week. This shit is painful! Also, I decided that this injury should have been avoided if I were in better shape so back to the gym I go. Ugh, this sucks! Later.... tannji
Damn dude.... that sucks.... been there too, last accident left me with only the waistband of my undershorts preserving my modesty..... had to ditch during a hard whip into a shallow cove that the driver misjudged, landed in about 6 inches of water on top of broken shale, and smacked a log, on top of it all. cracked ribs, broke a bone in my foot, lost my shorts, my t-shirt, and most of my dignity. Did get bragging rights for spectaculararity but all in all, it was something I would rather have missed. Get well!
Mikelly
Bill, Shocker, but I've suffered that exact injury from a little stub of a stump catching my front tire on a night MTB ride... THought I had broken yet another (7 Ribs total to date) Rib or two, thanks to my love of cycling offroad. Dr. advised me that tearing the soft tissue is MUCH more painful than the bone breaking that could have happened... All those little nerves are now good and angry for their little trial seperation! There is absolutely nothing you can do but sit and take it easy. Soaking in a hot tub and gulping lots of adult beverages took the edge off! Take a break and take it easy! Guest Aguyandaredhead
OK Bill, I am begining to think you are just trying to get out of finishing that car.. J/K.. That sucks I hope you are feeling better. I broke several ribs about 5 years ago and I think the most uncomfortable time was when I was trying to sleep. I like haveing a few days off as well but jeez thats taking it too far.. What lake were you at this weekend? Jeff

Guest RCNSC
Firstly, it sucks. Hope you heal all right and get a chance to work on the Z. Secondly, kick the boat drivers ass. I hate when unqualified people take other peoples safety into their hands carelessly. I've been tubing/skiing/etc for years, always with an expirienced driver at the wheel in a location they know. I think its BS personally and would def. have something to say about it.
DaleMX
Things have a way of working out in the long run. Just concentrate on your project while your taking it easy and re-think what your doing. Create an opportunity from your situation. Dale
BillZ260
Thanks for the kind words! I thought I would try to get to work today but when I woke up without any pain meds in the system, all I could do was lie there. Just about any movement is painfull and I have to be very cautious or I am reminded with very sharp pains. With the meds, (Panilor and Flexeril) there is still pain but the rest of my body is almost totally numb! I can't focus on much and it's pretty boring here at home. No cable, USUALLY no internet, I can't even play on my last project, the pool table! . Luckily I have a loner on-call laptop that I can log on with I am really bored and numb and there is much to be done in the Garage, so any of you that feel sorry enough for me can feel free to come on over and whip this car into shap, I will supply beer, pizza, panilor, flexeril whatever it take I will take it easy and see how she goes. Thanks again for the support. Jeff, We were at lake Ft Gibson camping out for a buddies bachelor party.
