Guest Joe17
Are mechanical boost gauges as reliable and accurate as the electric ones? http://store.yahoo.com/rodi/autmetulboos.html this is the boost guage im planning on buying. the electric gauges are twice the price. is there a reason for this? will the mechanical boost guage get the job done? or is it unreliable? thanks. Cody 82 ZXT
The only experience I've ever had with an electric boost gauge is the factory one that was way off. The mechanical gauges are very popular and are the most common setup.
ToplessZ
well I have not heard anything good about the autometer boost gauges only that the mech. ones are off. That puts me in a dilemma becuase I want a matching set of autometer gauges

COZY Z COLE
I've used a mechanical Auto Meter boost gauge with my blower for over a year now of almost daily use and it continues to read fine. My blower is at 6lbs. now and at wot that's what the gauge is reading. LARRY
slownrusty
I have only run mechanical Autometer Boost gauges and they run perfectly, I have one on my ZXT Turbo and one on my Turbo Corolla. Yasin
Guest bastaad525
Same gauge that I'm using. You know... I had the chance to verify the gauges accuracy at the dyno, they had a thing they could hook up to read boost as well, but I didn't have any free vacuum ports Seems pretty accurate though, I know when I first installed the turbo motor and had it set to stock boost the gauge read about 6.5psi which is just about right. Clifton
Electric gauges require a pressure sensor which rasies the cost. I've never had a problem with there mechanical gauges.
Cody 82 ZXT
No proublems with my with the two different Autometer mechanical boost gauges that I've had. I now have 4 Autometer gauges in the car and have no proublems with them. The only proublem I've ever had was with my EGT gauge and that was because I didn't have a good ground wire for it. Changed my ground from the factory wire to a spot in the dash and have had no proublems since.
Jersey
I have a similar AutoMeter boost gauge as the one you posted the link to and it seems to work well. The fuel and oil pressure gauges i have are electronic.
