RacerX
I found an old drawing of the Pantera Hatchcover concept drawing with other mods- prior to someone actually producing the hatch cover. Hope you find it interesting! RacerX

RacerX
I posted this a couple of years ago and it seems the link to the previous uploaded drawing isn't working so I thought I'd upload it once again since there are current requests for this. Thanks! Ernie/RacerX
veritech-z
That's a really nice drawing, Ernie. Did you ever do one of the front? It looks like you've done something to the headlights that's hard to see from that angle?
OlderThanMe
nice! the front end looks different than a Z...mysterious.
bschiltz
Wow, that's cool looking! The front end of the car looks cool, or at least what I can see.
Two40MuscleZ
Ernie: FYI this past year at the MSA Show there was a Met. Blue Z that had that exact Pantera Piece molded into it. The car belonged to a Japanese guy out of the Los Angles area. Looked pretty trick. In the early '70's there was an article written about a "Z" owned by Evil Kenevil, who had that same Pantera look, but it was also chopped and channeled. Thought you might get a chuckle out of hearing that. I will look for the magazine. I've got it archieved somewhere. All the best. A. G. Olphart
A hatch modified like this, perhaps mocked up with a plywood "window", would be a great addition to the proposed wind tunnel tests mentioned elsewhere. (Can't find the thread at the moment). I've been considering a Pantera like modification for some time in hopes that it would help drag/mileage. I know HybridZ isn't about mileage, but I want it all. <>
GOTHALOSISM
i HAVE A CONTACT WHO RESTORES PANTERAS I'LL TRY TO SEE HOW MUCH HE WOULD CHARGE TO MAKE A MOLD OF A HATCH FOR US.
280Zone
http://www.desertzassociation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=859 I have an old original from the 70's and have a mold made of the top portion, if there is some interest, I can get the bottom mold made and have them available. 280Zone
Yes they have a similar offering but I bet mine would be better : )

veritech-z
I still want to know why nobody offers a Pantera style rear spoiler to go along with this hatch!
ezzzzzzz
I'd be interested in this. Besides the cool look it is a remedy for the fume ingestion we suffer from.
RacerX
Hi Van! Thanks for that info. I actually had the magazine article that did the entire buildup for EK! Carl Green did the customizing. I still have ingrained in my head how he made up the rear tail light section out of plastic. That car was named "Evil Eagle". You know! - I believe Evil's car was the first Zcar to have the drip rails removed when Carl started the cutomizing for EK's car. Thanks for the memories Van! Speaking of which - I came across some old pics of "creative customizing" back in 1978 of the Zcars. Zcars were very popular back then for "customizing" and there were quite a few vendors providing 'glass parts. If anyone is interested in seeing some of these pics - I'd be glad to post some - I just don't want to bore anyone with "old school" stuff!
