Louiem
Anybody know where I can get a windshield for my 260Z hybrid. Body is all stock. Are windshields readily available at glass places? I'm in the San Antonio, Tx. area. Louie.
Mike kZ
Yea, just check your yellow pages, and call around. I found one locally that came to my garage, and installed it with my windshield gasket for around $115.
Louiem
Thanks. I'll look for a gasket/moulding first and then start calling for a windshield. Louie.
Ferd/289
A junkie tried to sell me an old one for $150. Fortunately I checked out a local auto glass place in Dallas and paid $100 for a new tinted windshield. I was amazed at the price. It worked great but was a strugle to get in. Make sure you use the tricks of the trade which include: - string or coaxial wire around the channel of the rubber gasket. You leave in the channel and then pull out as you set in metal sill. - Use liquid soap as a lube. - Rubber around glass first, then set in metal sill, then pull on wire or thick string to set. Hope this helps Ferd
Z-Gad
Thanks Ferd, didn't know about the "soap trick", but knew the rest of it. mike
Drax240z
Also a trick I've heard and not yet tried, install the SS trim into the rubber before you install the glass. (leave the corner peices out) It helps keep the rubber in the right shape and is 500x easier installing it before than after the window is in place. 383 240z
Does anybody know of a gasket that does NOT use the SS trim? I'm blacking out my car and would like to do away with the trim. Keith
