David K
The drag strip is in Palmdale about 2-3,000 feet above sea level. Those are normal times for this cars. Too bad they focused on mods that didnt make a damn bit a difference from stock. I ran at Palmdale 3 years ago in my completely gutted 280zx with flat top piston n42 head engine, with the best run being a crappy high 18. The next weekend later after being parked all week, the car ran a mid 15 at Carlsbad which is almost literally sea level. I cant believe major drag racing venues hold events at Palmdale. Jay1970Z
As soon as I saw the twins I said to myself, "Oh no! Not the twins, anybody but those damn twins!!!" What a stupid show, "Hey lets take two of the exact same cars, see who can install the same 3 parts in each of them in the time limit, then race them and the winning team gets both the cars!" Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed. On the other hand, the Datsun history parts and having John Morton on were pretty cool.
Forrest
I didn't catch the whole show but it seemed ridiculous. I was told the cars dyno'd at 90HP at the beginning?! And neither of those guys had a lick of drag racing experience....not to mention the fact that a drag race was the worst way to compare them. They should have had John Morton take them each for a lap on a road course.

rc's240z
Well, the show was a little hard to watch, BUT, I did like the footage of my car, you should see it now with the American Le Mans wheels on it now!!...T-Rex thanks for your complement. The bottom line here guys is that the twins had to deal with donated parts. This show was done on a shoe string. My personal experience with this was interesting as I was on hand for all the interviews with John and Trevor which was really fastinating. But not really used in the show. Les Cannaday came along with me, and wound up getting interviewed, and got more air time then john and trevor.... The bottom line, is it creates interest and excitment in the 240Z and that is good, and even though I had a hard time watching the show, as they moved from one scene to the next every 5 seconds.... rc's240z
Hey T-Rex can I be the honorable jackstand #46? LOL
Pyro
I saw the show and it made the 240z look bad. They added parts that made the cars slower! Big cams with no gears and no compression is a big drag strip NO NO. If they were on a budget, they could have recieved free advice from this forum and gotten much cheaper parts from pick-n-pull that would actually do something. They should have installed an early style 5 speed, R200's with 3.90 gears, and L28 short block with flat tops. And leave the SU's on please! Guest bastaad525
agreed... I hope only Z fans (who would know better what the Z is REALLY capable of) were watching that show... I shudder to think what ricers caught that episode and will now be forever convinced that Z's are such slow POS's... of course... once they've seen it on TV it just HAS to be true. Well... all the more room for guys like us to 'educate' them eh? How in the heck could they actually make the cars slower than stock??? Those two brothers are frigging ANNOYING!!! How in the heck did it take the one team of three people some 5 hours to swap out the cam and valve springs??? That... show.... sucked.... auxilary
that's not necessarily bad - maybe now we won't have as much of an influx of tards to the forums
z-REX
and the honorable jsr #46 goes to.... Ron's Movie Star car ownin' self! (zzzzzzzzzz-REX...LOL) good point. maybe it's not such a bad thing that such a horrible build was done... just think of how much shock and awe will occur when the punks who watched the show get their butts handed to them by any z on the road that was done the right way!!!
