Mikelly
David, What is the FI system doing??? I've got a complete setup, including wiring harnes and ECU I can sell you cheap... It worked when removed from the car, so you should be alright... Mike

David K
it runs fine on the street. when i get on the freeway, after about 10 minutes it starts putting and missing. if i give it FULL throttle then it seems ok. but when i let off full and try to cruise, it starts missing bad. when i get off the freeway and stop at a light, it is running like it is on 4 or 5 cylinders. after about 5 minutes of street driving, it is back to perfect. i dont know what the hell is going on. ive been in that engine bay for days trying to figure out what it is. its pissing me off and i feel like redlining the damn engine and blowing it just to move onto my new motor sooner. Z-Gad
Check out your vacuum advance on your distributor. If it is sticking or the diaphram is broken, switching to a carb set-up won't help you out. Just thought I'd throw that out there just in case
David K
i umplugged the vaccumm hose going to the distributor. didnt make a difference. when im on the freeway it sputters like its running out of gas, but i can cruise at 80 no problem. Z-Gad
Ok, take off the distributor cap, disconnect the hose, not from the vacuum module though, from the other end. OK, here comes the nasty part...using your mouth, apply vacuum to the end of the hose and see if the advance inside moves. You should see some movement of the arm coming from the back side of the vacuum module. If not, try using a screwdriver or something to move the plate the arm attaches to. It is spring loaded, so it should return to the place you moved it from. If that is working properly, apply vacuum to the hose again and put your tongue or finger over the end of the hose to see whether or not the diaphram in the vacuum module is leaking. If the vacuum leaks out, then there probably is a tear in the diaphram. I had a problem similar to yours w/ my carbed 240 and that was where the problem was. regards, mike
ZR8ED
Hows this for primitive.. have you checked your fuel filter lately? I had a 1 year old filter and thought I was ok.. the car pulled as strong as can be.. took it on the highway..just fine..till I hit 55mph..then it would practically die..and would if I stayed on the gas.. changed the filter..no more probs.. Just an Idea ...
