RB26powered74zcar
maybe i`m stupid but what does this thing do? is it just a ballanced crank pully or does it do something? Good question; The biggest reason in my book is, the dampner on ANY RB motor is a wear item/part. They only last so long. I don't know about you, but after dumping well over $10,000 in this motor, I sure would hate to depend on a used up wear part to last any longer. If the oem damper were to fail on us guys that have spent a ton on making these motors as reliable as possible, it can, and has, taken out the oil pump, which takes out the oil system, which takes out the motor..... As I see it, its like having to change the W/P or oil pump when you rebuild a motor, so might as well change out one more wear part that plays a important roll, that most don't think about.... Thats my explaination of what does it do...
240Z_Master
I couldn't have explained it better myself. My stock one was thrashed from either someone tried to pull the gears and the sides broke off, or that it was damaged from shipping or who knows. I felt really unsafe using the stock one and figured since I'm going to change out the stock oil and stock water pump, I might as well change the damper. 240Z_Master
Oh yeah, I think I can get these bad boys for $450 for the ATI Dampers for the RB.
Guest JAMIE T
I paid less than that direct from ATI. It was still under $400 shipped.

stony
I paid $460 shipped to my door. Brian Well thats cool... they quoted me 520.00????
Zhadman
Well thats cool... they quoted me 520.00???? This may be due, in part, to the increased price of steel. Our steel suppliers have recently changed thier pricing to reflect increased oil/fuel costs. I'm only speculating here... they could just be looking to take more of your money! 240Z_Master
I can get them maybe for a bit cheaper, but I would have to ask.
