David K
Hello all, Ok there is a huge classic car show out in san bernardino Sept 19-22. This is a huge 4-day event with lots of stuff going on! Live music, hundreds of vendors, tons of food! They hold the car show is on saturday and sunday, both starting at 9am and they go until 11pm. We cant enter our z's cause they dont want any imports, but the whole event is very fun! I want to get everyone together and start a z caravan up to the show on Saturday, mid morning. We will all hang out and walk the streets of downtown (the car show covers the entire downtown and has over 2000 cars). We will all park together in the parking structure and walk to the show. It would be nice for us to hang out all day together and cruise back. Here is the website for the event http://www.route-66.org/ Please reply to this message to strike interest in the other members of this group Hope to here from yall! David K
well the import ban has gotten to me over the last few minutes, so i decided to send these guys an email. _________________________________________________ Hello, I run a car club for classic nissan/datsun z cars. we are all coming to visit and hang out at the 66 car show. But, we all do have many questions. Most of us would like to know most, why you dont allow classic imports to participate? All of us do have a strict respect for classic domestics. We do have something to show off, and some of us even stuff V8's under the hoods. Id like to know why we are not allowed to participate, and why all imports are not allowed? i have 1 89 IROC and my father has a vette, but i, along with the entire import crowd, would love to show our cars off just as much as you guys do. Is there something that we can organize? Im thinking placing the imports in another section next to the domestics. It would give lots of those guys something to do and take pride in their cars. I know its too late this year, but what about next? Thank you much,
Racin_Jason
Route66 is the best car show ive ever been to and have been to everyone for the last 4 years. The SuperChevy show was a semi-close second. I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is great and they have over 2100 cars per day. Open header cruises, burnout contest, a long cruise route thats busy ALL day long and much more. I;ll warn ya tho..its gonna be HOT! Last couple years its been in the 100-107 range so leave your Z sweaters at home

Guest Anonymous
It's going to be hard to convince the people of that show to let you in when you don't even have any members in your club...DOH!
Guest Anonymous
Welcome New member "Cheese"... The "Ghostkilla" is the type of guy that has been getting into places without a club or gang for years. He is very persistant and maybe the first person to bust that Detroit Iron Wall on Route 66 with Asian bamboo.

Mikelly
Just do HYBRIDZ a favor and don't go "Representing" our views and opinions in any letters to such a group. One thing I absolutely DIDn'T like about the MSA show was seeing all the "In Work" cars there. They took up space that could have been used by true Show Cars. One or two cutting edge cars in "Build" state is cool, but having one out of four cars with rusted (*Insert your favorite cacnerous part here) is a real let down for those of us who travel so far... If it isn't Show Quality, then it shouldn't BE in a show. Mike Kelly Adminstrator
denny411
at the very least, the "in progress" cars should be in a completely separate section
David K
looks like us import guys are allowed to participate. this is the email i recieved from the route 66 staff. Dave, Thank you for your email, however, those vehicles you mentioned, Nissan, Datsun, etc. are allowed in the event. The event allows: Any motor vehicle from 1900-1973 only, including any year Corvette, Viper or Prowler. Our event is a classic car show and have geared it to just that. This year we have upped the year of the vehicle from 1972 (which has been since 1994) to allowing 1973 vehicles. The reason is that the body styles started to change in 1997 and the emission control. Where did you get your information? This is the second email regarding allowing Datsuns, Mazda's etc.?? Shelly
